Forklift parts replacement cycles vary depending on the part type, working environment, usage frequency, and forklift model. However, core wear parts have relatively standard maintenance intervals. The following is a guideline for key component replacement cycles based on recommendations from mainstream manufacturers and industry practices:
Engine and Lubrication System (Internal Combustion Forklifts)
Engine Oil & Oil Filter: Replace every 240–1000 hours or 3 months. The first replacement during the break-in period is recommended at 60–100 hours. Using fully synthetic oil can extend the interval.
Air Filter: Replace every 240–1000 hours. It is recommended to clean it monthly with an air pump to prevent dust blockage.
Diesel/Gasoline Filter: Replace every 240–1000 hours. This is a disposable consumable and cannot be cleaned and reused.
Spark plugs: Replace standard spark plugs every 3000–6000 hours; high-heat-range models require earlier inspection.
Timing belt: Recommended replacement every 6000–9000 hours. Replacing it 10%–20% earlier can prevent breakage and engine failure.

Hydraulic and Transmission Systems
Hydraulic oil: Replace every 9000–12000 hours; some standards recommend 1200–1500 hours, depending on operating conditions. If the oil turns black or contains impurities, replace it earlier.
Hydraulic transmission fluid (gearbox oil): Replace every 6000–12000 hours.
Gear oil: Replace every 9000–12000 hours.
Brake fluid: Recommended replacement every 10000 hours or 2 years.
Braking System
Brake Pads: Must be replaced when the thickness is less than 6 mm. The normal replacement cycle is 3000–6000 hours. If the brake pedal feels too low or there is abnormal braking noise while driving, it needs to be checked immediately.
Brake Discs: It is recommended to check after every 2–3 brake pad replacements. If grooves or uneven wear are found, they need to be repaired or replaced.
Tires and Drive System
Solid Tires: Must be replaced if there are no air pressure issues, but the tread depth is less than 3 mm or cracks appear.
Pneumatic Tires: In addition to tread depth, if cracks or bulges appear on the sidewall, they must be replaced regardless of mileage.
