How to Maintain Car Parts?

Car parts maintenance requires a systematic approach, focusing on meticulous attention to detail in three key areas: cleaning, usage, and installation. This covers critical components such as the engine, brakes, tires, and battery. Regular maintenance significantly extends car life and ensures driving safety.

Engine Maintenance: The Car's "Heart" Care

Oil and Oil Filter: Mineral oil: Change every 5,000 km or 6 months; semi-synthetic oil: 7,500 km or 8 months; fully synthetic oil: 10,000 km or 1 year.

Always replace the oil filter at the same time to prevent impurities from entering the new oil.

Cooling System: Use qualified coolant and regularly check the coolant level in the radiator to prevent overheating and engine damage.

Clean the radiator annually to prevent reduced cooling efficiency.

Air and Cabin Air Filters: Replace the air filter every 10,000 km; replace the cabin air filter every 20,000 km.

Spark plugs: Replace every 30,000 km for naturally aspirated engines and every 20,000 km for turbocharged engines.

Braking System: The Last Line of Defense for Safety

Brake pads and discs: New brake pads are approximately 15-20mm thick; they must be replaced when worn below 5mm.

Brake discs with deep grooves, cracks, or high-speed braking vibration require repair or replacement.

Brake fluid: Change every 2 years or 40,000 km (whichever comes first). A water content exceeding 3% will lower the boiling point, making the brakes feel "soft."

Original factory specifications (e.g., DOT4) must be used; do not mix different types.

Deep maintenance: Perform every 20,000 km, cleaning and lubricating the brake caliper guide pins to prevent uneven wear and abnormal noise.
